I went to pick up my daughter from cheerleading practice and thought I saw a dog walking down a hill in my neighborhood. Uh, no, it's a black plastic bag rolling in the wind. Sheesh. Pick up my daughter and then stop to pick up the bag. Of course, I made her get out of the car…
Are you serious mom?
Oh, alright…But, I'm going to pretend the bag killed me first. Always drama…
Gets the bag…
Why are you taking pictures?
My kids might hate me, but hopefully Mother Earth loves me. :) Teresa
You go girl (Mom)!
ReplyDeleteWell, gee, you and your daughter qualify for one of your OWN bags, under our "EARN A BAG" program :) :)
ReplyDeleteBagette Dad
Very pretty daughter of handbag
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! :)
ReplyDeleteA parents purpose in life is to embarrass their children!!!! Just ask mine : )
ReplyDeleteI agree! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy response to my kids under those circumstances was always,"Well,if someone else had picked it up then I wouldn't have had to!"
ReplyDeleteThanks Simple Walk and Kathleen. :) Good advice Kathleen!
ReplyDeleteYour story (with photos, even!) gave me a smile. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gail! :)
ReplyDeleteAh.... Ya know I love this and both of you.
ReplyDeleteWe heart you too Harmony! Of course, she would have picked it up for you without complaint!
ReplyDeleteWell, Teresa, as I heard another parent say in reference to his own kids today, "I am not their friend. I am their parent!" You are doing the absolutely best thing, complaints from your children or not.
ReplyDeleteImagine what our world would be like if EVERY parent insistently taught their kids to pick up stuff after themselves AND others. I suspect that in a while there would be no trash from "others"...and no trash!
Best,
Gaia
I'm sure you are right Gaia! Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon!
