How about gardening posts? Do you have a veggie garden or plan to put one in? I could do a guest post on the topic. Or soap making? You could try cold process soap! You'd love it. I know you would.

Thanks Maria--I do not have a garden. I have always wanted one though! It is difficult to have one where I live now due to the dryness and the DEER! They would eat everything! I could probably do some planters on my deck next year and grow some herbs and maybe a veggie or two.
With those deer you would have to have fencing for sure. The raccoons might dig up things too because once watered, there would be worms and grubs they would go after. We use chicken wire fencing and it works (we have a 6 foot wooden privacy fence that keeps deer out.)
I highly recommend tomatoes in that climate. The cool nights make for a delicious tomato. Some easy things to start with are cilantro, parsley, basil and sage. Lettuce does well there in the spring. All of those can be done on a tabletop type of planter. Might be easier to keep the deer away from it too if you planned in some kind of barrier as you built it. Nothing like home grown veggies.

Sounds great Maria! I think I will try some planter boxes on my deck next year. Start small you know. Lettuce would be so yummy!
