Little Man had a sleepover at a friends house on Friday night. During the night, Bently the puppy decided that Little Man's brand new coat would make an excellent chew toy. ARG!
It was beyond repair…
Bently even chewed up the zipper, the pull was no where to be found…I was going to cut it up and use it as pet bed stuffing when hubby suggested I make a camping pillow out of it. Yes! I used the largest parts of the coat as the outside and the rest was used for stuffing…
I cut the extra parts into strips before I stuffed them in the coat…
I used a blanket stitch to close the hole. I use this same stitch when finishing pet beds…
And there you have it, one side is cozy fleece to sleep on…
The other side is waterproof from the outside of the coat and I even kept the pockets. This side will be face down when sleeping and the waterproof might come in handy…
Little Man loves it and is looking forward to using it on his next outdoor adventure. Fortunately, Little Man's coat was replaced with the exact same one. Thank goodness the Sports Authority Outlet (near our house) still had one in stock! Teresa
Love the recycling, though i imagine you would have liked a little more use as it was originally intended
