Good Morning
What a wonderful idea... being an artist myself i have done similar bags for family and friends around their birthday and holidays but due to disability I couldnt imagine a scale as huge as yours....as a citizen of the planet Earth, Thank you for caring enough to put forward what a grand gift, toobad many others havent joined us in making a contribution even if it is small, it has to start somewhere. Maywe request a free bag of yours , maybe we can swap one of my hand painted for one of yours,,, our email address is: grainboth at clarityconnect dot com....thank you and God Bless you for helping to save our Earth for those that come after us
I think this is an awesome idea, and I commend you for starting your own unique way of "going green".

Green Bag Lady. I am so inspired by what you are doing. I have been buying eco-friendly bags for some time and people often look at me like I am wasting money, but I am happy because I am doing my part to save the environment. I saw you story on CNN and I would consider it a privilege and an honor to have one of your bags. I am going to ask my friend if we can take this on as a project; thanks for the pattern. Please consider me for a bag. My email is pksnowden@gmail.com.

It is very rare to witness the kind of selflessness and respect for our planet that you exhibit. Thank you for your gifts to people, and our Earth. GREAT IDEA Greenbag Lady!
I saw your story on Yahoo News and would love to carry your bag around New York City! I walk everywhere and buy only what I need (due to lack of storage) so I'm in and out of stores constantly. Each time I go into a store, a new bag is used and I would love to have just one bag that I can put everything into as I'm walking around. It would be an honor to use your bag and spread the word! My email address is juliap61atyahoodotcom. Thank you!
Hi! My name is Sundé (sunday) and I'd love to have a GreenLady bag! How chic and posh!! I'm in the beginning stages of learning to be green and switching things over. Having one of your bags would be a great addition to my "green journey"!!

What an amazing idea. I have never been one to take a reuseable bag to shop but your story has really encouraged me that everyone no matter how BIG or small the effort can help our enviornment. I would be honored to carry one of your bags!
Hello Green Bag Lady Family,
I would be honored to receive one of your bags, and I will *PROMISE* to put it to good use. Whether it be the grocery store, the mall or wherever. I have to admit when I go shopping for clothing or gifts at many local vendors I don’t take along a “green” bag. This bag would be great for more than just groceries; really it can be used at any store, for any reason. I will spread the word about what you are doing by showing just how wonderful this idea is. Thank you in advance.

Hello Green Bag Lady,
I saw your segment on CNN yesterday and am really happy that you are doing something so valuable. I live about 2 miles from a landfill in CO and hate the fact that water bottles, plastic bags and numerous other materials, are needlessly dumped and left to corrupt our environment without any thought of recyling. I applaud your generous gift of teaching through giving.
Kind regards,

Dear Green Bag Lady, After seeing your story on CNN yesterday it would be an honor to sport one of your bags the next time I go to the supermarket. If you had a lifetime I can't imagine you'll ever fill all the requests you'll surely receive. But if I should be so lucky, my email is angelatgg@gmail.com.
Thank you for your gift to our planet.
What you are doing is amazing! I try to be as environmentally-friendly as possible. My mother has a shop where she makes soaps, lip balms, healing balms, herbal bath teas--all sorts of things that are made as organically as possible...
Keep up the good work and spreading the word about the evils of plastic bags...:)

Why not show your CNN taping, and your blog to a corp. sponsor and explain your idea to them so that they can add hands for you (ie help) and materials/ postage, etc. Tell them you will add their logo to the fabric so that you can then DO MUCH MORE FOR FREE, & GET HELP DOING IT!?

My name is Joy and I am from Bayamon , Puerto Rico. I just saw the Green Bag Lady this morning on the news and thought that her bags looked so cool. I have a two-year-old and she does not mesh well with plastic shopping bags. Hello Green Bag Lady,
I started using cloth bags when we lived in Germany 8 years ago and kept it up in Australia and England, where they are ahead of us in the bag revolution. (The Aussie bags have been the best...) So I won't ask for one of yours because I have plenty.
I also have 2-3 little fold up bags that I can put in my purse that unfold to be a regular size bag. I use those ALL the time. If you or your bagettes get bored with making your current size, you might want to think about that.
But I will add to the commendations you've gotten - great idea to publicize their use! Personalizing them for people is also a great idea.
Thanks for being a revolutionary!

I would love one, but I know you have many comments here.
I think this an awesome way to "pay it forward". There has been an increase of companies to jump on the green bandwagon and provide reusable bags to replace paper or plastic, which is great, but there's still a problem, the produce section. Even if we go green with taking our groceries home, we're still forced to use plastic. I saw a picture of you using your homemade bags for produce. Way to step it up a notch! I would totally use those produce bags! I have found a local produce store in my area where the produce is much less expensive than at my supermarket, it helps to support local growth, and in the end I am contributing to less energy being used by buying locally, but it kills me to put 15 different kinds of produce in the plastic bags, because in the end I am defeating the purpose. Please send me some of those amazing produce bags!
What a wonderful way of saving a little bit of the world a little bit at a time. I already use cloth bags ,but I could use a new one. intodragonsatyahoodotcom.

Hi! I am Tessa Piansay of the Philippines! I am a mother of two, and greatly concerned with global warming and was very inspired when the mall I used to work at began to make and promote a green bag at the supermarket for everyone to buy and get points when used. But when I saw you on CNN, your project is more than inspiring as it involves not discouraging use of plastic and paper but also recycling whatever fabric we have in our own homes! Here in the Philippines, and I believe in most of the countries in the world, surplus of unused clothes, new or old is absolutely alarming. No matter how much we promote donation of old clothes here for the less fortunate. There's just so much that go to waste or so many just gathering dust in our closets. I will be asking a friend to make it our project to make our own bags just like the ones you have and promote them among friends. I am sure you won't mind, I am actually picturing out a greatly useful charity event for Christmas or New Year! I hope my resources will allow me to do this soonest! God bless you and people like you!

Hey Green Bag Lady! I saw the story on CNN and what a great idea...hopefully others will follow your lead. I live in Chattanooga and it is a city that is striving to be more green. Thanks for all that you do. my email is jennylass02ATyahooDOTcom
Hello Miss Green Bag Lady,
I absolutely LOVE the green bad idea and would love to add it to my environ friendly collection! I sew plush, comfy quilts made out of old t-shirts, sweat pants, jeans, absolutely anything I can cut a square foot of material out of. I make them in any size and I've got a couple of my own and I've made some for family and friends. Its a great way to look back at an old t-shirt that you love but can't wear and say "oh ya! i remember those days." And its a great way to reduce garbage and help our wonderful Earth. Maybe we can do a switch off. Let me know. My email is dadiezgrl_8701AThotmailDOTcom. Thank you.
Amelia
Great Idea to win a bag, I've a few generic looking grocery "bags" but your would liven up the shopping pleasure. Sher_ann50atyahoodotcom
Not only do I love the idea that your bags are good for the environment by stopping the use of plastic/paper bags, but also because you use material that has been donated from another source. It is a true example of re-using. It also adds a fun vintage flair. Thank you for your selfless gift to the environment,
Amanda

GBL, you are an inspiration to the younger generation that ANYONE can help in their own way. I Tivo'd your CNN story & had my 5 year old watch it. She instantly beamed: "Mommy, I love this! Can I have the one with the hearts for when I help you do groceries?" I hope she can. I loved your post about your Mom... In fact it got me thinking, I'd love to use the bag as my daughter's show & tell item in kindergarten on the letter "B" day, to start the class thinking. Thank you for what you are doing!

Oh and I already voted, voted early. Thanks.
What you are doing is great! I've been using sustainable bags now for 4 years and at some stores I get a discount (5 cents a bag) or a raffle ticket to win a $20 gift card to the store (Trader Joes's draws daily!) or I'll get an odd look or 4.
It would be nice to win a fun bag to mix in with my store bags (I like to collect them... I have bags from 5 countries!)
Keep up the good work!

I already have a couple of fabric bags so you don't need to send me one but I just wanted to tell you:
1)I think it's wonderful what you're doing.
2) The fact that your bags are numbered and unique makes them valuable and I think you could easily sell you bags and still give away some and use some of your profits to promote awareness and green practices + plus pay for your time.
Wishing you Peace, Prosperity and Love
I saw the CNN video, I think you are doing a really cool thing and I hope you keep on doing it for a long time! My mother and father always taught me to use fabric bags instead of plastic/paper, but since I've come to college I've gotten a bit lazy with it. I'm going to start using fabric bags again!

Dear Bag Lady,
Who would have thought that term would have such positive, endearing connotation? I'm in awe of what your idea has put into motion for so many of us. I would be so appreciative and proud to tote one of your bags into any store I frequent. What a wonderful thing you have given to the 'keep it green' message...thanks.
Susan
Dear Green Bag Lady, my family would love one of your bags. Good job! I'm going to see if we can fire up our hardly-used sewing machine and maybe we can make some of our own.
Thanks,
Eric

I love that someone is actually giving re-usable bags out for free! I only wish there were more reasonable bag options out there besides advertising for crummy retail shops, spending a pretty penny, or being wasteful. You guys rock!

I can't say how much I admire what you are doing. I am a single parent of a five year-old girl and I am trying to show her how what we do effects te world. Respect for what we leave behind.

Hi Green Bag Lady!
I'm so inspired by this I want to give them as Christmas presents to my sisters since we don't really exchange gifts anymore. But we all shop lots! I have 4 sisters and we are all concerned about the planet.
I had hoped to get a bag for each of us but I don't want to be greedy.
Thanks for doing your part for a greener planet!

Hi, I live in Northern California. I always take my bags with me to the store, I can always use a new one. Hope I'm picked to get one! I am also going to look at the pattern and try to start making my own. I have a ton of Indian dresses that I've been wondering what I could do with them, I think I have my answer! Hopefully I'll have enough skill when I try to make it work! I'm excited! mommyofpepperATyahooDOTcom
