GREAT IDEA Greenbag Lady!
I saw your story on Yahoo News and would love to carry your bag around New York City! I walk everywhere and buy only what I need (due to lack of storage) so I'm in and out of stores constantly. Hello Green Bag Lady Family,

I would be honored to receive one of your bags, and I will *PROMISE* to put it to good use. Whether it be the grocery store, the mall or wherever. I have to admit when I go shopping for clothing or gifts at many local vendors I don’t take along a “green” bag. This bag would be great for more than just groceries; really it can be used at any store, for any reason. I will spread the word about what you are doing by showing just how wonderful this idea is. Thank you in advance.

Hello Green Bag Lady,
I saw your segment on CNN yesterday and am really happy that you are doing something so valuable. I live about 2 miles from a landfill in CO and hate the fact that water bottles, plastic bags and numerous other materials, are needlessly dumped and left to corrupt our environment without any thought of recyling. Why not show your CNN taping, and your blog to a corp. sponsor and explain your idea to them so that they can add hands for you (ie help) and materials/ postage, etc. Tell them you will add their logo to the fabric so that you can then DO MUCH MORE FOR FREE, & GET HELP DOING IT!?

Hello Green Bag Lady,
I started using cloth bags when we lived in Germany 8 years ago and kept it up in Australia and England, where they are ahead of us in the bag revolution. (The Aussie bags have been the best...) So I won't ask for one of yours because I have plenty.

I also have 2-3 little fold up bags that I can put in my purse that unfold to be a regular size bag. I use those ALL the time. If you or your bagettes get bored with making your current size, you might want to think about that.

But I will add to the commendations you've gotten - great idea to publicize their use! Personalizing them for people is also a great idea.

Thanks for being a revolutionary!

I think this an awesome way to "pay it forward". There has been an increase of companies to jump on the green bandwagon and provide reusable bags to replace paper or plastic, which is great, but there's still a problem, the produce section. Even if we go green with taking our groceries home, we're still forced to use plastic. I saw a picture of you using your homemade bags for produce. Way to step it up a notch! I would totally use those produce bags! I have found a local produce store in my area where the produce is much less expensive than at my supermarket, it helps to support local growth, and in the end I am contributing to less energy being used by buying locally, but it kills me to put 15 different kinds of produce in the plastic bags, because in the end I am defeating the purpose. Please send me some of those amazing produce bags!

Hi! I am Tessa Piansay of the Philippines! I am a mother of two, and greatly concerned with global warming and was very inspired when the mall I used to work at began to make and promote a green bag at the supermarket for everyone to buy and get points when used. But when I saw you on CNN, your project is more than inspiring as it involves not discouraging use of plastic and paper but also recycling whatever fabric we have in our own homes! Here in the Philippines, and I believe in most of the countries in the world, surplus of unused clothes, new or old is absolutely alarming. No matter how much we promote donation of old clothes here for the less fortunate. There's just so much that go to waste or so many just gathering dust in our closets. I will be asking a friend to make it our project to make our own bags just like the ones you have and promote them among friends. I am sure you won't mind, I am actually picturing out a greatly useful charity event for Christmas or New Year! I hope my resources will allow me to do this soonest! God bless you and people like you!

Hello Miss Green Bag Lady,

I absolutely LOVE the green bad idea and would love to add it to my environ friendly collection! I sew plush, comfy quilts made out of old t-shirts, sweat pants, jeans, absolutely anything I can cut a square foot of material out of. I make them in any size and I've got a couple of my own and I've made some for family and friends. Its a great way to look back at an old t-shirt that you love but can't wear and say "oh ya! i remember those days." And its a great way to reduce garbage and help our wonderful Earth. Maybe we can do a switch off. Let me know. My email is dadiezgrl_8701AThotmailDOTcom. Thank you.

Not only do I love the idea that your bags are good for the environment by stopping the use of plastic/paper bags, but also because you use material that has been donated from another source. It is a true example of re-using. It also adds a fun vintage flair. Thank you for your selfless gift to the environment,

GBL, you are an inspiration to the younger generation that ANYONE can help in their own way. I Tivo'd your CNN story & had my 5 year old watch it. She instantly beamed: "Mommy, I love this! Can I have the one with the hearts for when I help you do groceries?" I hope she can. I loved your post about your Mom... In fact it got me thinking, I'd love to use the bag as my daughter's show & tell item in kindergarten on the letter "B" day, to start the class thinking. Thank you for what you are doing!

What you are doing is great! I've been using sustainable bags now for 4 years and at some stores I get a discount (5 cents a bag) or a raffle ticket to win a $20 gift card to the store (Trader Joes's draws daily!) or I'll get an odd look or 4.

It would be nice to win a fun bag to mix in with my store bags (I like to collect them... I have bags from 5 countries!)

I already have a couple of fabric bags so you don't need to send me one but I just wanted to tell you:

1)I think it's wonderful what you're doing.

2) The fact that your bags are numbered and unique makes them valuable and I think you could easily sell you bags and still give away some and use some of your profits to promote awareness and green practices + plus pay for your time.

Wishing you Peace, Prosperity and Love
