What a super giveaway idea!

This year I have been making some gifts (less packaging this way!) and also wrapping the womens and girls gifts in a pretty scarf (instead of wrapping paper).

I hate using anything disposable. This Christmas I'm making all of the gifts I'm giving (sewing or baking) and I'm not using any wrapping paper, I use cloth bags or repurposed pieces of paper (like pages from an old telephone list I was about to throw away).
I really hope to win one of these bags! Thank you! blimunda23(at)yahoo(dot)it

This year I plan on making and giving gifts that are useful instead of just picking up a gift (usually junk) to have one to give. After my wrapping paper stash handed down from my mom runs out, I will wrap in repurposed materials and fabric bags. I do agree that we are way to wasteful! Thanks for the chance to win!

Holy cats! What a giveaway! I'm going green by making all my gifts, and only using supplies from my stash. No new bags to carry things, no gas used driving to stores, and I'm not using wrapping paper - everything will be in a re-usable fabric bag!

Oops, I hope this doesn't post duplicate - I forgot to include my email address on the first one. :)

I LOVE the amy butler bags!!!!! please enter me.

this year i am making all of my gifts or making things to trade for gifts from other crafty folk. this was borne out of necessity (lack of employment = no $ to buy gifts) but is turning out to be a true blessing.

thanks for the chance to win!

Thanks for the great giveaway--what a lovely idea of making one and passing it on.

I have been sewing my gifts this year--I just learned how to sew--and we are placing our Christmas tree into the local lake after Epiphany. Crappy and brim will lay eggs around it and it will give them a safe haven.

thanks so much!

i love Amy Butler Fabric! and I love what you are doing more, what a huge pay it forward, impactful act you are undertaking! I am going green this holiday by cutting up the plastic grocery bags i do have now, and crocheting them back together to create a reusable, very strong market bag. We are going green by raising one pig and one cow a year to fill our freezers. We also buy chicken and eggs from our neighbor :) We use the waste as fertilizer for our garden where we grow our own veggies and some fruit. We recycle what we can and we use reusable bags at the stores. I switched my christmas lights to lcd so they will use less power and we use a real tree and then mulch it to put around bushes. So it all goes around.

WOW! Count me in please - I love Amy Butler, and I love being 'green'. I ask Santa ;) not to giftwrap all the items in the kids stockings to save on paper being wasted. I use modern cloth nappies on my kids and wash and dry them outside or on a drying rack. I've heard that in the US people use driers/laundromats a lot, in NZ we don't if we can help it. What else - we recycle and I love upcycling items into something else :)

Ohhh - I already won a bag - not sure if I qualify - but I am a fabric nut so I am going to ask anyways. This year I am making all my gifts for friends and swaps!
I use lace, fabric, paper and used ornaments from the thrift store - you should see my little angels.

anyone if I am chosen - I would give one to my mother in law (who is a big recycler) and make the second one to keep!

I can't sew but I want to try! eeeek! I'm almost scared to win!

My kids are making gifts out of repurposed trash like tp tubes and strawberry quarts. We will wrap gifts in newspaper for a very odd look under the tree!

No having to hit the mall: priceless.

This season I am attempting to go green from making gifts out of some thrift/upcycled fabrics and sweaters. Even my giveaway is made from thrifted materials.

Ooh, cute bags. I started making my shopping bags last year and only made 6 (not enough for our family of 5!) and so I haven't been using them as often as I should. I just need a little kick in the pants to make some more.

Going green- we give our kids used books collected throughout the year, as their present from us. They get so much stuff from other family members that it seems silly to go out and buy more new toys.

All of my smaller gifts for family and friends will be "wrapped" in a bag that they can use to shop with afterwards. Thanks for the opportunity to win!=)

I'm going green this Christmas by making drawstring bags out of fabric to hold Christmas gifts or we are reusing boxes, tissues, and raffia string instead of wrapping with new paper.

Going green by making many gifts, and buying from local crafters many of the rest.

I love the bags! I'm from a family of 11, so with spouse and kids there's almost 30 people at my house for Christmas. It's very easy to go thr paper plate route with that many, but this year I'm putting them to work washing dishes so that we don't use paper. Next year I hope to have made many many cloth napkins so that we might save there too!

Thanks! megancparsons(at)gmail(dot)com

WOW!!! What an amazing giveaway!

To go green, we are using electronic gift cards, making gifts, using reusable totes when we do shop, and turning the tree on only when we are in the room.

What a great program! And what beautiful bags!! I have made most of my Christmas presents and have always 'wrapped' them in either a home made bag or a reusable bag I purchase at the grocery stores - no waste whatsoever and it brings another into the world of reusable market bags. kathegtn(at)aol(dot)com

I have made an effort to be green this year. My daughter is 2 and loves painting at preschool, so I used most of her paintings as wrapping paper. I have kept some of my favourite ones though!

I also made my gift tags from last year's Christmas cards.

And if you get a chance, check out our handmade Christmas tree on my blog. It's made from driftwood and we should be able to reuse it for years to come!

Fantastic! I'm glad I found your blog through SMS - I love what you're doing with the green bags! Thanks for the chance to be in to win one, and make one for somebody else. (If I'm lucky enough to win, my sister is going to benefit from me making her a bag as well!)

I've been trying to go green slowly but steadily. I'm going to make fabric wrapping paper this Christmas, as I hate having to buy and throw out the paper type! (Although in my family, we carefully fold and reuse wrapping paper for several years until it falls apart anyway!)

Have a great Christmas!

LOVE LOVE LOVE these green bags :) This year I am going green by having my students in my Middle School Special Needs Self-Contained classroom create ornaments out of recycled materials, (such as scrap pieces of paper from this year that haven't been used, and I decided rather than tossing it out to use for this project, and also paper clips in my draw, rather than buying ornament hangers). The kids have loved this project and decorating my very PINK tree. I am glad they have, because they are mostly boys and I was afraid they may not like my PINK recylced tree from my PINK college days, (haha!) I am a first year teacher so I have found not only is going green good for the environment, it is also cost effective! I love it! Thanks for this great giveaway, and I hope I win one! How lovely that would be! God bless & Merry Christmas!
