B.A.G.--Bags Across the Globe
I hope that you had a wonderful time with your workshop in Gualala. I had a fabulous visit with Conserve India in Delhi, and by the end of August I hope to have it posted on my website for everyone to enjoy. My two fashion design students (just graduated) will remain there to work as interns for 6 months. It's an incredible experience for them. See attached photo of us in the Old Delhi bazaar.
I hope that all of us who are working on this problem can stay in touch and support each other.
Best regards,
Ann
Here I am with the BAG bags that Ann gave to me. Actually, she gave them to Harmony to give to me. :) Aren't they great? I love that she has her students help make them. And, I get to give one of them away. I will be announcing a freebie including one of these bags and some other fun goodies on Monday. Stay tuned! Have a good weekend. Teresa
Today at Fifty Forward

California Camp Crafts--Part VI
Ok, this is the last one of these posts, promise. The kids HAD to make bags to put all their crafts in, right? I was amazed at how much the kids knew about the dangers of plastic bags to the environment. It made me so proud!

Project 5
TP Roll hangings (I posted about these before)
Age Level: Any
Supplies: Toilet paper/paper towel rolls, paper clips or clothes pins (to hold the loops together after glued), scissors, glue, string
Full instructions here.
P.S. I do think it would have been easier to precut all the tubes as the littler kids had a hard time doing this with kid scissors. :)

Project 3
Tinfoil Art
Age Level: Any
Supplies: Cardboard headed for recycling, tissue paper (used is fine), paint brushes (1 inch is great), watered down glue, Mod Podge or any other kind of decopage medium.
Full instructions here.
P.S. I found the unique shaped cardboard pieces cut and ready to go outside the sculpture studio at my University, they looked like shields so we decided to put initials on them.

Had to share. . .
The July issue of National Geographic has an article about Bowerbirds. Ever heard of 'em? Me neither. Nature never ceases to amaze me! I love this photo. This was made by a bird, yes, a bird. Incredible. View the entire photo gallery here.
I think one of the reasons I love it is because it reminds me of the environmental art work of Andy Goldsworthy. If you have never heard of him, I suggest you take a gander at this photo gallery.
