ANNIVERSARY FREEBIE!!!!

Guess what?

3 years ago, 900 posts ago and 14,000 bags ago, Green Bag Lady began from a pile of fabric in my sewing room. It is truly hard to believe what has happened since January of 2008. Yikes! Really? 14,000 bags. I could not have done any of this without the Bagettes, all my sponsors, fabric donors, and YOU dear readers!

Thanks!

14,000 is not enough though. . .we are greedy. We want MORE people using fabric bags. MORE people carrying Green Bag Lady bags every day. MORE, MORE, MORE! Ah ha ha ha (insert crazy person laugh here)!

Here is what is up for grabs. . .2 special bags. . .
Bag number 12,000. . . why do we still have this? Well, it was never claimed from THIS freebie. . . it is so sad and feeling dejected and needs a good home. . .it is tired of hanging in my sewing room. . .
Bag number 14,000. . . made just for you, by little old me. . .
And a pile of lightweight bags just itching for a new home, to be useful, to be loved, to help save the world from plastic bags. . . too dramatic? I'm channeling my 12 year old drama queen. . .
Also, Bagette Dad informs me that he is REALLY bored and needs something to do, so leave LOTS of comments for him to read. Tell EVERYONE about the freebie!

ANYONE, even if you already have a bag from us can win bag #s 12,000 and 14,000, we will pick randomly from all the comments. If you DO NOT have a bag from us already, you can win one of the lightweight (perfect for shipping AND for putting in purse or pocket) bags! If we have enough, we will send them to EVERYONE that leaves a comment! Wow!

Also, since Bagette Dad needs something to do, he is offering up a special prize for one entrant. I don't know what it is, it is top secret apparently. If he lets me know, I'll let YOU know!

To enter please do the following:

•LEAVE A COMMENT, IN THE COMMENT LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THIS FORMAT: name(at)something(dot)com it is important to spell out dot and at so you don't get spam, if you DO NOT leave an email address, we will not hunt you down to send you a freebie, thanks.

•In your comment tell us what you like or don't like about winter.

DEADLINE TO LEAVE A COMMENT FOR THE FREEBIE IS MIDNIGHT (CST) TUESDAY, January 18, 2011

Good luck! Teresa

FREEBIE IS NOW CLOSED, THANK YOU FOR ENTERING. STAY TUNED FOR MORE GREEN INFO AND FUTURE FREEBIES!

Teresa, you are such an inspiration! I love what you are doing and I also love that your Dad is helping you. My Dad was a pilot, and during his down times he completed some gorgeous needlepoint canvasses! Keep up all the hard work. And never lose your determination and motivation. I have a bag or two of yours and we use them happily. If I don't remember them to bring to the Farmers Market, I end up coming home with scads of plastic bags. Not good! Thanks for making a difference. ~Wendy

Happy Anniversary Bag Lady! I don't have the honor of owning one of your bags (yet) but would love to! What I love about winter is the excitement and amazement on my children's faces in the event of snow...we usually see it at least once each Winter (which, btw, is plenty for the Texas girl!).

I yet don't have a bag of yours and would be so happy to be the proud owner of one! (if it is willing to do the trip far down to South Australia...)
I love winter because everything looks sparkling and clean. All our surrounding turns green, the most lively, amazing shade of green and the hills are covered with mist and fog which turns everyday into a little romantic episode.

I do not yet have the pleasure of owning, and enjoyment of using one of your fabric bags. I keep buying plain muslin ones in a variety of sizes, but alas they are plain and not as stylin' as the ones you create. As for the weather, I love winter, was out hiking in the snow with temps around 28F. Nothing prettier than seeing the snow on the fir trees and walking through the forest and seeing animal footprints everywhere! Congrats and Happy Anniversary. I can't believe one of your bags went unclaimed, they are soooo cute and you do an awesome job! I have been trying to win one, but no luck yet- so hopefully this time around I will get lucky enough to win one!

My favorite part of winter is how peaceful and beautiful the world outside looks when it is covered in freshly fallen snow!

Oh, I would love number 12,000 or 14,000! I can't believe that the 12,000 winner didn't claim it! I am in Florida so I would say that what I love and don't love about winter is the same thing, we have no snow. It's nice not having to worry about the clean up and everything from the snow but the feeling of winter doesn't last very long when everything looks the same all year long! Thanks for such a great giveaway and a surprise from bagette dad too!

Wow- I just came across this for the first time and I just think it's so inspiring! Thank you! my email is theevildoctorclaw@gmail.com and bag or no bag, thanks for caring about this planet! PS, my favourite thing about winter is that because it gets dark so early, it's MUCH easier to get the kidlets to bed at a reasonable hour ;)

I don't have a bag from you yet but always use reusable bags when I go to the store. Recently I had a few handles break on some cheaper bags and haven't had time to fix them so this would be of great help to me!

I love your bags, and just won one. I looked at your tutorial and made my first one out of some fabric I snagged for a dollar. It was so fun and easy I want to make more, but I would also love to win one of your other bags. I would have to say that I love the way winter makes everything white and clean. But this winter where I live it can't make up it's mind. One day it's freezing and the next day it's raining. So we've had to deal with lots of icy road conditions which I absolutely hate.

I don't yet have a bag, but would LOVE LOVE LOVE one!! I am soooo inspired by what you're doing to help the planet. Every week I have one garbage bag and 3+ bins of recycleables...I hope others on my block soon start to do the same :o) I love thinking GREEN!

What I love about the winter is snowboarding on Mount Washington (Courtenay, BC, Canada) with my hubby and then returning with the kids to tube there! It's especially great here, in my opinion, because it rarely snows in the city so there's not too much shovelling involved! It would've been nice to have a white Christmas this year tho... :o)

My favorite thing about winter, especially January-March is that there is absolutely nothing going on this time of year. The Holiday madness is over and there won't be any yard work, big holidays, or demanding obligations for several more months. It's dark and rainy which makes it a great time to be inside with a cup of coffee and a long-neglected craft or project I've been meaning to get to. I read more, sleep more, and kick back more in the winter, not to mention eat more. It's my most restorative time of year.

Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your great bags!

This is my first year in over a decade of living somewhere that snow doesn't stick around during the winter. I miss it. I don't miss driving in it, but I do miss the crunch of walking through it, how it sparkles during evening walks, and how everything looks so new and different with a coat of snow on it. That being said, I've really enjoyed only minimally bundling up to head outside this winter.
