I took a few photos yesterday but we were mainly busy getting the boat ready. An airplane flew the last 3 crew in and we all got to know one another and heard the history of the boat and where is has been recently (many very cool places). The Sea Dragon was in the Global Challenge in 2004 and came in second! The Global Challenge is an around the world boat race AGAINST prevailing winds and currents, often referred to as the "wrong way" route. The race covers 29,000 nautical miles. In 2004 they started from Portsmouth, UK and stopped in the following ports: Buenos Aires (ARG), Wellington (NZ), Sydney (AUS), Cape Town (SA), Bostong (USA and LaRochelle (FRA) before returning to Portsmouth.
Now, the boat belongs to Pangaea Explorations…
Last night, sunset on the boat…Next post will be the inside of the boat. Teresa
