I am just getting into quilting but I know it would make my grandmother proud. She used to make all of us grandkids a new quilt each year for Christmas. I miss her like crazy and decided to teach myself how to quilt

It's been years since I've made a quilt, and I've been looking for an excuse to make a new one. I'm really interested in trying a quilt kit.

I have to be sneaky while writing this. I promised my husband that "that giveaway thingy" is finally over. : ) Yet here I am again, signing up for another one. I have made exactly two quilts in real life, but about a million in my head. So I guess my favorite thing about quilting is the dreaming part.

This has been on my mind for the last 3 weeks. Should I learn to quilt or not? Im not sure what is holding me back...maybe the thought of never finishing it? Im living on a mountain top and have nothing else to do with my time, so I might as well give it a try. If I don't win this freebie, I will click over to that site and check out the other quilts. I think this is a sign I should start. Thanks GBL.

Wow! This a great giveaway. I've only every made a quilt top and that was when I was 10 and hand stitched it. I'd love to make a full sized quilt and this seems like the perfect way for a newbie like myself to do it!

Thank you for your "Free Stuff" listings. Why I love quilts: Quilts remind me of my Grandmother and mother. They gave them as wedding gifts.

I found your site too late to enter the SMS giveaway but I think you have a great concept and would be happy to make and distribute some bags on your model. I love quilting, but have more unfinished than finished projects, lol! Most of my quils are made from cut-up thrift store items, as I am usually too cheap to buy new fabric. Thanks for hosting these giveaways, and keep up your good work!

I love freestyle quilting. I love getting mesmerized as I watch the stitches form shapes and patterns this way and that without ever having to stop to turn the fabric.Sometimes I enjoy making up my own path, but i also like to follow the printed design on the cloth.

What a great giveaway! I had no idea you could buy prewashed, precut fabrics. What I love about quilting is seeing all those little pieces of fabric come together to create something both beautiful and useful.

One of my favorite things about quilting is choosing the fabric! I have that quilt-quirk (others have it, too)... I need to touch the fabric! Second, I love when the quilt is finished! I like the quilt kit very much & haven't gotten a kit in awhile - sad to say, money is tight. Thanks for this offer!

I've been a quilter for over 35 years. Still love color and design and especially the life- long friends I've made. Just visited with an 87 year-old-friend who's still actively making art quilts. We went to Japan together in 1985, with other quilters and are still friends. Love Harmony's fabrics!

The best part of quilting for me is the friends I have made. Quilters are the BEST kind of people! I've never made a quilt from a kit before, but would love to try it. Quilting is the one constant in my life right now. I can get lost in the process. It's soothing, and I am proud when the quilt is done. My email is gbs88(at)yahoo(dot)com.

I've made three quilts. My favourite part is reaching the point at which the top seems to grow exponentially. After working with tiny, little, fiddly bits for so long, it's a great feeling!

Thanks for all you're doing, Green Bag Lady, for our Earth. I'll be sewing a few bags this week to curtail the 'hmm, I've ended up at the grocery store without my cloth bags' phenomenon. Soon, I'll have bags in the car, in my handbag, and near the door.

PS. Am so not into Blogger's new method of identity verification. No longer can we simply use our gmail accounts, we are forced to establish a blog. Not into it! I'll be sending Google an email but thought you'd like to know, as well. People are turned off by it (myself included).

@Lori-- sorry about blogger. I just learned this was happening too and I think one of the reasons we did not have a bigger response to our last Sew Mama Sew freebie. We are planning to switch to Wordpress sometime this summer just for this reason. Thank you for letting us know though!

Thanks for extending the due date! I love Harmony's fresh fabric designs. Her attempts to use organic dyes help keep quilters and users safe and healthy has a great appeal to me besides the excitement I get each time I complete a quilt.
