Elk!

We got a blanket of several inches of snow last night while we were tucked snug in our beds. Hubby and I drove around a bit admiring it and saw these two ELK right on the edge of our neighborhood. People had told us there were elk nearby but this is the first time we got to see them! Teresa (not the greatest photo, taken with my iPhone)

Judging by your photos your living area is overpopulated by deer and elks. These inhabitants are everywhere! I even slightly envy you. Here in Novgorod region we have thick forests but the only beast's footsteps I saw were wild boar's. Alas, the animals must be scared by hunters. Whatever, convey hello to your deer neighbors!

how wonderful to see so many deer and elk. thanks for sharing your photos with us. once in a blue moon we will see some deer at the edge of a forest preserve. once I even saw a coyote in the evening. but mostly it is cats and dogs and little critters (such as skunks and opossoms) love that you are giving the workers bags. so thoughtful and considerate of you. Yah to seeing the end of hotel life.

Burovik, yes, I would say there are many deer. I'm not sure about elk as we have only seen these 2. I'll tell all of them hello for you! :)

Lori--

I have heard there are coyote around here too. I have seen one fox and possibly a wolf. We also have TONS of prairie dogs. I'll have to take some photos of them. They are pretty funny critters.

Thanks for all your kind words. :)
