Around the house…

My house is FINALLY nearing the end of all the construction. My dining room and living room furniture are still in a mini-mobile across the street, but we are getting close. There are some details like touch up paint, carpet in the main floor office, some drywall patching and baseboards. But, the end is in sight. Over the next few weeks, I'll share some of the projects with you and hopefully some rooms as they are completed and I get pictures on the walls.

The lighting throughout the house was pretty much a 90s horror movie. A lot of brass and some really funky stuff. We are taking care when removing it so we can donate it to charity. This birdcage chandelier hangs near the entryway and was one of the fixtures that I didn't hate. It just needed updating.
While the workers were here with scaffolding, I asked really nicely and they spray painted it for me for FREE! Of course, I gave them all bags so maybe that helped. It was a brownish metal color and the "flame" lightbulbs were not doing it any favors. The updated color is a nice brushed nickel look.
And the round lightbulbs are so fun!
Not a bad update for around $50. Far less than a new fixture! Teresa
