Seamly

Last week I finally got to meet Kristin Glenn of Seamly. I first read about her on Treehugger and when I found out she was based in Denver, I sent her an email. We have been trying to get together for months and finally made it work!

All of the Seamly clothes are made right here in Colorado from deadstock fabric sourced from US textile makers. These fabrics have been discarded by manufacturers due to excess or wrong dye color. Kristin uses these fabrics to make small batches of wonderful clothes! How cool is that?

And, now, Green Bag Lady gets to be part of the process by taking the scraps from Seamly and using them as pet bed filler! Yay! It was so great to meet Kristin, she is simply darling. You really need to go check out her site, blog and vote page. YOU can have a hand in deciding what type of clothes she produces next! Cool. Teresa
