Green Bag Lady Knoxville Update!

Bagette Dad & Green Bag Lady,

I'm stock-piling heavy bags to take to the Klisz reunion in August; my goal is at least 150 bags to distribute to relatives in Ohio.  Since I'm driving, it's a great way to use up the fabric that doesn't pack lightly into my carry-on.  July is a busy month for work travel, so I'll quickly run through the numbers that I have right now.

I'm having a lot of fun sewing bags from the fabric Meltem (Swaville/Mill Creek) sent.  I love seeing people's eyes light up when I tell them I made the bags and they're free!   Several times I've heard about how cities are either charging 5 cents for a plastic bag or banning them all together, and that the fabric bags will get lots of use.  I relate how the fabric was destined for the landfill until Meltem found the Green Bag Lady project online.  It's so hard to imagine such beautiful fabric tossed into the garbage.

Well, early bedtime for me.  I have a pre-dawn flight to Boston in the morning.

Take care & Happy 4th of July!

So proud of my cousin Sara for her involvement in the Green Bag Lady project. The bags here are well used. I am sure everyone loves them as much as I do.
