Entry Redo with FLOR

I have been really struggling with the entry to my house from the garage door. It's ALWAYS a mess. The kids (and hubby) come in the door and simply drop everything. ARG! I finally found a bench that fit the space, but the rug was a different story. For a while I had 2 small rugs but they kept moving around and slipping. I ordered the brown one you see below on line but it kept curling on the edges (tripping) and was too small. By the way, it is impossible to buy a rug that is 5' x 6' which is the size I needed. All of them are either 5X7 or 4X6.

Then, I remembered about FLOR squares. I could buy as many as I wanted  and cut them if necessary. Score!
I went to the FLOR site and poked around. I needed 13 squares and was not willing to pay $22/square. Just as I was about to click off, I saw the FLOR Outlet link. Many of the squares are $5-8. YAY! I took a gamble and ordered 15 of the Kevin in Teal. Since they were only $5, I added a few extra for future spills and wear and tear.

Doesn't it look great??
I had to cut one of the tiles to accommodate the vent but it was super easy. I simply used a pair of heavy duty scissors and a ruler.
I am so happy with how it looks. The size is perfect and it is meant for heavy traffic which this area gets. The whole thing took me 20 minutes to install including cutting. I'll let you know how it holds up, but I have high hopes! Teresa

You did a great job cutting for the vent. We once reused carpet tile in our basement that had been taken out of a commercial office and it worked great! We even had the leftovers placed in the garage (hubby's idea).

A basement is a great place for carpet tiles too!

Thank you for posting these pics! I was debating on the Kevin Teal flor (still in the outlet shop), but it was soooo hard to see what color it was in the sample online. Did a google search, and your blog came right up. Showed it to hubby, and purchased right away. THANKS!!! I would have not bought it without seeing this detail!

Thanks Karen, you will love them! They still look great after a year of wear and tear. I also used Flor tiles in my laundry room, you can see them here: http://greenbaglady.blogspot.com/2015/09/before-after-laundry-room.html
