Shopping Out of My Purse

I get asked a lot what I do if I forget to bring bags into the store. This happens. I do forget, especially if I'm on the phone or distracted by a million other things. Hey, I'm a mom. It's all good though because I carry enough bags in my purse to grocery shop anyway. Typically, I carry what you see above, 5 shopping bags and 4 produce bags. They all roll up and fit in the front pockets of my purse. I have surprised a few checkers by continuing to pull out more and more bags.

I especially like to carry the produce bags in my purse. I started doing this about a year ago. I was so frustrated that I could never find them. They would get shoved in the bottom of so many other bags and get lost in the back of the car. I would end up using that green hippo bag for produce all the time but it weighs more than a produce bag and I didn't like paying extra.

Of course, if you DO forget your bags in the car AND don't have any in your purse or pocket, you can just put everything back in your cart and load the bags once you get to your car. No biggie. If you do that a couple of times, I promise it helps you to remember your bags in the future.

Happy green shopping--Teresa

Thanks Teresa for the great tips! What type of fabric do you make the produce bag out of?

CrochetnQuilt--I didn't make these produce bags. I think that someone gave them to me a couple of years ago.

Here is the link for them though: https://naturalhomebrands.com/shop/veggie-bags-kitchen/

I really like them a lot. They are super light with a drawstring at the top. I do have several that I have made out of voile or another type of light material.

I LOVE THIS. I cant tell you how many times I have asked the bagger to just put things back in the cart without bagging it LOL the looks I get LOL Once a bagger even wanted to argue with me. I had to be firm yet gentle. You don't argue with the customer not matter how crazy it sounds.

Thanks Lori! :) Yes, I have had to remind some baggers multiple times that I really do have my own bags!
