Photo Finish Friday

I'm thinking of painting my kitchen island (above). Maybe green? Maybe navy? Opinions welcome.

This is interesting.

Do you have an air fryer? Do tell!

These have been around for a while but worth mentioning again.

This is cool.

Cute laundry room redo. I enjoy mine every day.

Hubby and I ended up scrapping our plans to visit MN last weekend due to the "snowmageddon" they were experiencing up there. Glad we didn't go, they got 18 inches! This weekend I'm playing a tennis match and hemming prom dresses, you?? Teresa

I love your kitchen! I think navy would be too dark. I think a lighter color of green would be nice. I'm not sure what you're decor is, but I like the orange color ice seen people use in there kitchens also. It's not too light or dark. 🙂

you have a lovely kitchen. i love the light wood. it all makes your kitchen so light and airy. just some food for thought. our small kitchen had dark wood. and i wanted it lighter. so after asking questions about the right type of paint, we painted all the cabinets white. so pretty and so much lighter looking. but, after a little time, the places that were handled the most, such as around the knobs and handles the paint is gone and we can see the dark wood underneath. truly unattractive. whatever you do, count the pros and the cons first. lots of luck.

Thanks Andrea. I think I'm going to have to get paint and do some swatches and watch the colors throughout the day. I was hoping I could just kind of pick something but I don't think that will work in this case. I'm not an orange person. I like it in small doses but I don't think I could handle it on my island! :) Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Thanks Lori. Yes, I do like the light maple cabinets. It is one of the things we have not changed in the house. I do tend to like white but I agree it can get dirty in spots and the only way to truly get white is with paint. We are planning to leave the cabinets as wood. I would just love to the kitchen island to pop with a different color. I need to mull it over and like I told andrea, I think I'm going to have to get paint and do big swatches and go from there. :)

I need to see the next room to see what colors you could bring in to the kitchen.
Note my cabinets and yellow counter still are in need of the GBL touch. ;)

Harmony--

I think you need to come visit and help me!

Yes, let's tackle some of that this summer!
