Aunt Frances FREEBIE!

Bagette Aunt Frances is here visiting for a short time with my dad. She got to meet with all the Bagettes yesterday at our regular Sunday meeting. It was so nice for everyone to meet her since I talk about her (read more here, here, herehere and here) and how she has been making bags for a LONG TIME! She specializes in wine totes and grocery bags, but occasionally makes little pouches too.

Frances is a remarkable woman, in her 88 years she raised 7 kids, moved 33 times and was an Air Force wife. Just writing that last sentence makes me want to take a nap! I asked her if she likes making bags and she said, "Well, it keeps me off the street!" There you have it!

She made some really cute ones with zippers and drawstrings as well as the large bag out of fabric samples. And, guess what? The set is up for grabs! The following photos show the details (they even have the labels in them that Bagette Dad and I gave her for Xmas). . .

My favorite Aunt. I have to say that it was Aunt Ann. She was the type of Aunt who experimented in the kitchen (even though we all knew she could not really cook, but who were we to stifle her dreams). I can say that she made great can biscuit dough donuts. She also would let us watch whatever we wanted on TV when she babysat and may stove popcorn. Among everything else she made us laugh uncontrollably. She also holds a special place in my heart because she took me to my very first rated R movie (MOVING with Richard Pryor), back in the day where you parents were the only ones that could take you, good thing we had the same last name, but it was apparent (but the movie theater person did not say anything) that we were not mother and daughter and she talked me through several issues I was having as a teenager. I enjoyed her company even as I got older. Unfortunately she left this world way too soon. I know there are no coincidences only God’s plans, but my grandmother died not to long after her (Ann was her youngest child) then my baby brother right after that. Enough of the sad mushy stuff. She was awesome and I only wish I could have had a chance to be the Aunt she was, but believe me when I get a grandchild they will LOVE ME. HA HA (don’t think my daughter will at that time). I don’t have one of your bags, but I always love seeing the photos of those who receive them and am amazed how far away these people are. Thanks for allowing me to reminisce on my Aunt. praterclp(at)yahoo(dot)com

My aunt, Cill, i would say is my favorite. she was the one that i saw the most and I loved to go everywhere with her. I would spend the night at her house all the time and we would eat ice cream and watch movies. I was 13 when she had my cousin and I was more of a sister to him. She is great!

My favorite aunt was my sweet Aunt Cindy... she had boys so she would take me for days and experience what a daughter was like... I loved it! She got a daughter of her own years later. She loved that I laugh when I talk and let me play with her old dolls spoiled me with (fake) pearls and my first add a bead necklace! my favorite aunt is aunt ellen. she's a very good teacher. she teaches in the remote areas of my mom's home province. she goes out of her way to raise funds for her school facilities not entirely depending on the government funds. she used to ask our school books from us while we were kids so she can use them as updates for the children she teaches. :) she also knows a lot and taught me a lot especially household chores and making uber yummy polvorons. :D
