I love your Blog, I'm always checking it out. Don't want to enter, but I wanted you to know I have a small trash can (to hold my veggi scraps) with a foot pedal to open it and a plastic bucket that can be removed to carry to my NEW barrel compster I got for Mothers Day!
Thanks for spreading the word!
We just started composting, and I use an old coffee can to hold things waiting for the compost pile. Love using my bag get lots of comments on it.

Hi: I compost but use a old sawn off empty plastic milk jug to keep my kitchen scraps in. This red baby is much nicer! Thank you for giving us the chance to win one! Sharonj.

I have always wanted to get into being more eco friendly and finding ways to save. My brother has a compost pile in their backyard but this little can would help me get going on composting for sure.
I am going to keep my toes and fingers crossed for this one!

I'm sorry to say that I don't currently compost. If I win, I will definitely start. It is something that I have thought of doing often, just never started. That is shameful and no excuse :-(
Would love to win!
Thanks

Yes I compost. I use the earth machine it is awesome, but I don't have anything to store my compost in on the counter. For now I'm using an open bowl, but this disgusts my husband, so he refuses to compost and if I don't catch him first, he puts his wonderful used coffee grounds into the trash can. I'm sure he would be more than happy to put them in the Compost Keeper instead.

I have not been brave enough to start a compost container.. we do a little composting outside but nothing inside. Would be nice to have something this cute for the kitchen.
My 4 yr old daughters are becoming so much more aware of energy saving and eco friendly things. They only use your fabric bags when they need to take things with them and they are always wanting to pick up garbage around the neighborhood; always say things like "why is there trash on the ground", "they should have picked that up" when we are going places.. and just the other day one of them finally said to me "mom can you turn the tv off we are going to go play in our room." I was so proud of her.
Well, thank you for this giveaway and I love your blog, visit EVERY morning.
:)

like the previous commenter said, this canister would definitely be the nudge i need to get started composting. i also need tips on preventing a compost pile from attracting pests (unwanted wildlife). aehaas (@_ gmail (DOT) COM

I currently am not composting as I am in a transition to another state. This Compost Keeper would go great at a new home! I do plan on starting to compost one way or the other when I get settled.

I made the decision last weekend to start composting, so I've been trying to figure out the best way to do it without attracting rats, etc. We're following a new diet to help my daughter with her chronic health issues and we're peeling loads of produce each day that I hate to see going to waste. I would LOVE to win this - it would definitely be put to good use.

I compost! Been composting for 12+ years. We put it in an old ice cream bucket. Composting is like magic!

This is a wonderful idea! I currently compost, in an inexpensive (but tacky) plastic container. I've looked at these before, but they were way too expensive for me!

I would love to have a counter top compoST collector! We used to collect our scraps in an old coffee can - and made a compster w/wood.
We just sold our house and the composter too... We will be moving to our new place in a few months and would love to have this out on my counter. Conversation piece, something to get the neighbors talking and composting too. :)
PS my 3 yr old is totally into compost/recycling/reusing. It makes me sooo happy that he's aware of all he can do at such a young age.
Also my mom has been using her eggshells for planting herbs, once they sprout she just plants the shells in her garden!

Just the inspiration I needed! My dad composts and I have been meaning to start for the past couple of years, but have not gotten off my hiney to start. I would love to win this, but even if I don't I am going to start composting asap. Thanks for the helping people do the right thing!

I do not currently compost, but we've put in a garden this year, so I REALLY need to get going on this! To be honest, I'm a little intimidated by it, although I know it's supposed to be easy! As a family, however, we are constantly looking for new ways to be greener! I'll check out your post on composting! Thanks for your work and helping the rest of us to strive to be greener! Barbarick6(at)yahoo(dot)com
I don't compost; I save the scraps from my Community Supported Agriculture share at a local certified organic farm for the goats and pigs! This little compost keeper would be great for that also!

I just wanted to say thanks so much for your green bags. I use them everyday for school. I compost too and the compost bin would be wonderful for underneath my sink. thanks for all that you do.

Love your blog! I used to compost, but gave it up after a move. I've wanted to get started again. The compost keeper would definitely help.

I have just discovered your terrific mission and thought I'd give you a heads up to expect a pkg. of fabric for your continued great work. Gardening is my passion so composting has always been a natural necessity. Both my grown sons live in NYC and are avid gardeners, as well. Do you think they'd compost more for their roof-top garden if they had this gorgeous red compost pail? I do!
Many Thanks, Mary
I've been composting for as long as I can remember. We run a horse farm- first in SC and now in Florida and horse manure makes what we call "Carolina Gold" Adding kitchen scraps, newspaper, coffee grounds and other bits makes a wonderful mix which we in turn donate to co-op farms and our neighbors who garden. Right now I use a large plastic coffee can but I would love to replace it with something pretty on my sink! tradavis at embarqmail dot com
Dear Teresa,
I'd love to win the composter, because it's not so wellknown or common here in Germany. My idea is to use it in school to show the kids the wonderful idea and spread it too.
Sorry for my poor english.
Kind regards.

Super excited to be a winner or runner-up as I don't have one of your bags either! I saw you on NPT and then found the blog. I love what you do. Keep it up and thank you for the inspiration!!!
Oh, now for the fine print - I don't compost (Sorry!) but could start! :) Just spent my morning organizing our recycle station so I can be more consistent (if that get's me any extra credit). :)
