Boat Tour…

We finally got the diesel gas that we needed this morning. According to Skipper (captain) Clive we are planning to leave at "ridiculous-o-clock" (said in a British accent) tomorrow morning. We did more chores on the boat like swabbing the deck. Yes, really.

While we were docked in calm waters I took the opportunity to snap photos of the boat interior for you…

These are the stairs to below deck…
If you go down the stairs, you come into the main area which looks like this. It is the eating and sitting area. I also found out today that the table is made long enough for a man to lie down on in case he is in need of surgery… hmmmmmm… which apparently happened during the Global Challenge that I explained in the last post. We will hope for no casualties this time around…
The kitchen, I have already made eggs, soup and quesadillas for the crew. It's small but very functional…
The "head," I'm still not sure why it is called that. See the sprayer on the faucet? That is the shower. You just spray the whole room! I have not had a shower on the boat yet as we are docked by a "Yacht Club" and they have a shower there. Don't get any grand ideas about the Yacht Club because I can guarantee you, it is nothing like what you are thinking…
Food storage and the science lab for testing samples…
Storage at the front of the boat…
The bottom bunk is mine. See the quilt? It is keeping me nice and toasty…
The view from the back to the front of the boat…
The view up the stairs…
The ship controls (to the right of the stairs)…
Up on deck, from the front looking back…
Some of the crew, there are 10 of us. L to R, Brit (won the trip through Electrolux Vacuums, she is blogging too), then Jeff (boat crew), Chris (teaches high school geography in Minnesota), Alfred, Tasha (15 years old, high school freshman and student of Chris), and Robert…
I wish you all a good weekend. I will be thinking of you sleeping in while I am up at ridiculous-o-clock manning a boat. It's all good, I'll soon be in the fiords of Chile. Wow! Thanks for sailing along. Teresa
