Hello Everyone! No photo today as it is a major challenge for me to be upright. We are out in the open ocean and things are quite rocky. We are doing some actual sailing now which is exciting. We pretty much motored through the fiords as we were tight on space and low on wind. We now have plenty of wind, believe me! It is blowing 40 knots as I type this. It is nearly 3am and I am on shift until 4am. I was up on deck earlier and it is crazy out there. Imagine the scariest roller coaster combined with the craziest water ride... maybe 10 times worse than that! This boat was built for just these conditions, so that is reassuring. Also, Jeff, my team leader has been in worse conditions, nice to know. We did a trawl in the water today. A lot of small sea life and only 2 small bits of plastic. Yay! I'm so happy that this part of the ocean is not a dumping ground like many other areas. These seas seem happy so far. We may hit Valdivia late tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed and positive thoughts coming my way! I'll do my best to get a photo up tomorrow. Teresa
