My family and I went camping last weekend to Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky. If you are nearby, I highly recommend it, just gorgeous! We stayed at Energy Park Campground, nice but kind of crowded. We went to the Planetarium. The best part was the Nature Station. It didn't look like much at first, but it was fantastic. They had many rescue animals for the kids to see, and feed! There were also tons of gold finches and hummingbirds flying everywhere. The talk about owls at the end of the day was wonderful and we got to see all of them up close.
Little Girl fishing…
Little Man…Big Girl's Friend that came with us, first time fishing and the only one who caught anything…
Big Girl…
Little Man and his floating sculptures. Rocks on pieces of bark…
The Elk and Bison Prairie…
Isn't he adorable? (the owl, not the guy)
And to top things off, on the way back from the Nature Station, we decided to stop at the side of the road for some campfire kindling. We ran into this guy. Thank goodness he didn't wake up. Scared the living daylights out of us though! It is a Timber Rattlesnake and he was HUGE! I'm glad we didn't step on him.
What did you do last holiday weekend? Teresa

I think the guy is cute too! Aye Carmaba on the snake!!! Yikes!
Looks like fun! My son would have LOVED a day like that. He lives for finding critters (a lot like his mom).
Rachel, we have critters aplenty right now!
