FREEBIE!!!!! Big Girl's Curtains + Produce Bags!

We have a lot going on. Aside from all the fun summer stuff, we are making changes to our house. We are getting a new pantry (desperately needing), back splash, sink, faucet and pass through in our kitchen as well as painting almost every room in the house. Whew. Big Girl felt like she needed a new look to her room. She picked out bedding and is going to have her walls painted lavender. She wanted plain white curtains. We were in luck, the white ones I took out of the sewing room during the redo were just right! The old ones came down. I was a bit sentimental as they are ones I made for her 6 years ago when we bought this house. One set went on the bare window in my laundry room. The other…well…got washed…then, went under the knife (ah, scissors rather) and became TEN Green Bag Lady bags…
I also had a lot of thin (viole) fabric hanging around and made a bunch of produce bags…
Don't you think they make a winning combination? How about winning a set like this…
TEN winners can win a set similar to the one pictured above. Those TEN lucky folks will get ONE Green Bag Lady Big Girl Curtain Bag (long title, sheesh) and FOUR produce bags! Yippeeee!

Also, rumor has it that Bagette Dad has somewhere in the neighborhood of 180 bags on hand that he is ITCHING to mail to new bag toters. Tell everyone you know to come and enter this freebie. They may win one of the fun prize packs above, OR they will win a Green Bag Lady bag regardless (if they don't already have one).

TO ENTER THIS FUN FREEBIE, DO THE FOLLOWING:

•LEAVE A COMMENT, IN THE COMMENT LEAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THIS FORMAT: name(at)something(dot)com it is important to spell out dot and at so you don't get spam, if you DO NOT leave an email address, we will not hunt you down to send you a freebie, thanks.

•In your comment, tell us what changes you are working on this summer!

•DEADLINE FOR THE FREEBIE IS 10 PM (CST) Monday JULY 11, 2011.

•TEN LUCKY WINNERS WILL BE CHOSEN FROM THE COMMENTS TO WIN! Warms my heart that 10 of you will be toting bags from Big Girl's room!

•However, anyone that enters that does not already have a bag from us will get one! :)

Good Luck + Happy Summer! Teresa

International entries OK.

When shopping and I don't have many items, I will tell the cashier that I don't need my items bagged. Therefore I end up carrying my items to the car. Which sometimes can be very hectic. I would so love one of your bags to take with me while shopping.

ha! we are giving a face-lift to our entire house this year (grin) ... a lot of painting & re-organizing ect--
I designed & my DH built a new display unit in the living area for a weird little corner-it turned out fabulous--

I had NO $$$$ to do this redo of course & I wanted new furniture & a fireplace & everything--soooooooo I took a chance to see if anyone would buy my old stuff & belive it or not they did! I place ads on ebay & creigslist for local pick-up only---sold our vintage super duper tower stereo speakers from the early '80's (we were really into Disco than)sold our huge 3-piece entertainment unit & our very large sectional sofa & made enough $'s to buy a faux fireplace & a new sofa/loveseat/cute new tv table/huge ottoman w/bed inside for when our grandson stays over (smile)---
I'm also a good bargain hunter-I was really wanting silk drapes for the bedroom-about $600-no way was I going to spend that much---went to a yd sale & guess what I found! beautiful silk drapes & valances-8 floor to ceiling panels in mint condition for-----$5.00---all of them for $5 bucks! wahoo!!!!!
well, I could go on & on about this remodel adventure but I figure you get the idea---

love this blog-love my bag-and love giving out the bags I make!

The produce bags are awesome. I have made myself 2 and just have not gotten around to recycling more of my old sheer curtains to do so. I did however make a reusable cheesecloth from the sheer curtain...what a money saver now i don't have to buy cheesecloth every time I turn around(I make yogurt cheese and oat and rice milks that requires straining)

This Summer we are having baby #2 (due at any moment now...) so we are transitioning rooms, redecorating, and doing simple things here and there as much as possible. We don't know the gender of this baby, yet, so we need to wait until we know if it's a boy or girl! It would be so fun to own one of your big girl's curtain bags! I LOVE the color!

I have been "shopping" yard sales and thrift stores to find striped men's shirts to cut up to use as ties & bows for gift wrap and also to tie around the top of recycled jars (pickles, spaghetti sauce etc. that has had the label removed, cleaned and lid painted) then add cookies and give as small thank you gifts.

Love your bags!

I could use more produce bags!
I would like to say picking on all those weeds outside. My allergies are bad so I don't go out much. Our oldest is moving from MO to TX for her junior year at UTEP. She will be missed, spending as much time with her as possible.

Those are so cute! We've moved our kids upstairs and us into their bedroom downstairs. Also, redid the bathroom, have to install a couple *new to us* windows that were only four years old and someone was replacing already! I've remodeled the bathroom with material I either got from the ReStore or at garage sales and I've been slowly decluttering our house!
And plants are now 75% off so I bought even more today for the vegetable garden and landscaping! I love summer!

The biggest transition I am working on at the moment is myself. So far I have lost 35 pounds and am hoping for another 10-15. In the past five years I've gotten married bought a home, had two kids, had to move out of our home and for the past year we have been living at my moms struggling to make ends meet while my husband struggles harder to find a job. Its been tough and it all took a toll on my waist line! But we are keeping our spirits up and looking for those silver linings.

I love all of the wonderful freebies you have, it is such a generous thing to do for people you have never met and a planet you love dearly. I hope to one day make it to TN so I can meet you, the lovely baguettes and if I am lucky maybe even bagette dad! Thanks again for a such a fun opportunity!

We are transitioning to all organic food. We already have had a garden for the last four years, but we're now baking all our own bread and everything. We are also using cloth diapers with our son and I'm hopefully soon going to sew our own reusable lunch bags. I already have several bags for groceries, but don't have or hadn't even thought about produce bags. What a cool idea!
I would love some of them :)

I’ve just arrived to your blog : your purpose is great !.
Your Green Bag Lady is adorable ... and I don´t have one already :(
In Argentina, it`s winter time (cold, wet, foggy and full of ashes from the volcano), so it’s not a good moment to make changes to my house. I hope I’ll be able to make them in springtime !
Anyhow, I would love to have one of your green bags. My e-mail adress is : msambrana (at) arnet (dot) com (dot) ar

Hi,
I am learning to sew. I found the link to your site via sew mama sew. One of my first goals is to make a set of reusable canvas bags for grocery shopping.
Love to win one of yours. Would also love your recommendation for a beginners shopping bag pattern, if you have one.
Thanks, Keely

Love reading all the things folks are doing to recycle! We don't use paper towels-LOVE those microfiber towels. I even made kitchen towels and dishrags out of the utility ones we bought at the box store with my sewing skills. We compost-planning a garden, recycle everything we can, and share our shredded documents (for identity theft protection) with the local animal shelter for bedding. They love us! The wild birds get cooked egg yolk treats when we are dieting, and we shop 'previously loved' first. Forget to take those forever bags into the stores sometimes, but getting better. New projects...let's see. Now adding hair clippings (from our own at home haircuts and the dog's at home grooming) to the composter for the added nitrogen.

Sending hugs, a special one for Bagette Dad ;o))
Have a nice week!

Well, I just moved into a house so I've had the opportunity to buy a reel mower (which is a great workout and does an amazing job), an electric weed eater (yay for no vibrations like the gas version) and my garden is doing awesome. Of course I still have to go to the farmer's market and the grocery store which are conveniently within walking distance to my house and I commute to work via bus, foot and bike. So shopping bags like yours that can be tucked inside backpacks and purses are fantastic. Keep up the great work. Thanks, Michelle (sprtsgrl2000(at)yahoo(dot)com)

Since spring, we have been using a reel mower instead of electric or gas powered mower (sweaty work:), we planted a mini garden and are watering it with a rain barrel instead of city water from the tap. We'd make great use of your bags!

You always have such creative ideas! We are making pillow case dresses at church and I got several strange looks when I asked them to keep the trimmings for me.....I have a trash can of scraps so I can make dog beds for my local humane society!

As always, you inspire me to try harder to be green and to inspire my kids to do the same.

We've been trying to use all our own shopping bags for everything we buy at a store and have been pretty good at it. We're also getting almost all of our produce from a CSA or Farmer's Market. I don't have one of your bags yet but I have been using a different type of bag for our produce and I definitely need more! I've heard great things about your bags and would love to try them out! betsey3(at)gmail(dot)com

I have a small coffee roasting company and as well as an Etsy shop, I make local deliveries around town...think milkman but caffeinated :-) I recently found tins with coffee valves in the bottom and now each customer has two assigned tins. They leave an empty out for me and I replace it with a new one. It's wonderfully paperless. Would love a bag to tote around with me while collecting tins, jennie-mae(at)AproposRoasters(dot)com

There are a few changes that I'm trying to implement. First, getting back to composting with all my veggie and coffee waste. Then, trying to make sure we clean out our leftovers - DH isn't big on them and they tend to get pushed to the back of the fridge, out of sight out of mind. Thirdly, trying to get DH to carry a couple shopping bags in his car. That man brings more plastic bags into this house!

I already have a bag! krisgray(at)yahoo(dot)com
