I have read that book. It was daunting to look at but AMAZING to read. The sequel is good too (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Without_End_(Follett_novel) ) as well as the tv miniseries.

Loved it! I didn't read the sequel but I do want to check out the miniseries. The casting choices were all really interesting.

Yes Delaney, I want to read the sequel too but will have to put it off for a while. If it is as good as the first one, I need a vacation just to read it! :)

I want to check out the mini-series too!

This book was recommended to me during a tour of Ireland, by an intriguing Irish gentleman, in 1994. I read it with a sense of the mystical antiquities viewed across the Irish countryside and felt as though I had gone back in time. I later learned that it was unique among all of Ken Follet's books with an immense international following. the sequel is less satisfying but gives you the chance to leave the present behind. So glad you discovered it!

Kathleen, I would imagine that would be wonderful. I read the Agony and the Ecstasy while I was studying in Italy for graduate school and it was wonderful!
