Yay Ikea!

Hubby was at Ikea the other day and took this photo for me. Thank you Ikea for discontinuing the use of plastic straws! We are all perfectly capable of drinking out of a cup. Or, use metal ones like THESE. Have a good weekend. :) Teresa

Well said, Teresa!! I could never understand why people are treated and, most importantly, why they allow to be treated as if they are little less than capable children. How many years would you guess it will be before we start seeing this kind of signs in TN? :)

Thanks,
Gaia

I personally don't even understand straws. Why would I want to transport something to my mouth through plastic if I didn't have to??

PS my metal reusable straws rock!

We love our metal straws too!

I hate plastic straws! I try to avoid them at all costs. It really burns me up when a restaurant gives you a straw in a glass that you are going to drink while you're seated at the table!

Yes, I know Jan, I hate that too!

Great idea. I read that straws actually encourage more drinking as our lips are not satiated by the wetness of the drink - so we tend to drink more. It's best to choose to refuse starws in the first place, but if you have to use a straw - say for a thick smoothie, I choose Stainless Steel Straws
Have added your blog to my list of recommended sites, you are an inspiration!
Namaste.
