I've been up to some yummy mischief as of late. The kind that includes cream, sugar, eggs and other good stuff. It all started with this book and my trusty Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. I jumped right in with Mocha Swiss Almond and quickly moved to Cappuccino Chip. Yes. Then I had a revelation last night while on the verge of sleep. Maple cookie ice cream. I had just bought some cookies from Trader Joe's and thought they would be perfect with the maple ice cream recipe in the book. I am substituting the cookies for the walnut. Even though I adore walnuts, my kids, not so much. I promise to post a photo of the end results and give you a culinary review.
PS, those maple cookies never fail to remind me of my mom. sigh. she would love this ice cream.
