Of course, I was pressing some fabric when I started to really look at how sad my cover is…
We use cheap crayons (the ones from restaurants) to mark the bags and sometimes there are accidents with said crayons…
It had gotten so bad that when I was pressing some fabric, melted crayon got on it. New cover? Of course. I used the technique I posted about in this tutorial to make a new one. I was reminded that I made that old cover 4+ years ago so it was time for a new one. Here's an "in progress" shot. I used the left over binding from the quilt I made Harmony and her husband. Doesn't really match, but who cares? You can't see it underneath the ironing board.
A mere 30 minutes later…voila! Done.
So much better, don't you think? Now, back to that to do list… TeresaP.S.
New cover is this fabric from Harmony.
Old cover is this fabric.

It really does look nice! I'll have to be more careful with ironing those bags!
It's ok Tami, 1/2 the marks are from me! I think we should put something over it when we are using the crayons. :)
ah well, make your to-do list pretty looking and take extreme pride and pleasure in putting a tick mark beside an item .. heck, you could even take some chalkboard paint and paint up some scrap wood to use for a to-do list .. or break down a really big chore into little bites and tick them off as you do them .. I think you accomplished a lot in making that ironing board cover, I don't even know where my ironing board is .. or the iron .. ahem ..
Hugs, if you want one .. Julie
My GBL bag is made from the fabric of your old cover! I <3 it.
Thanks Julie, I do try to do that. I actually make a list every night before I go to bed and then I have a lovely pink highlighter that I use to cross things off when I'm done. The problem is that I feel like I do so much each day but still not much pink on the list! It's because I do get a lot done but then I do so much that is NOT on the list!
I love that fabric Kellie! I plan to make my dining room curtains out of it. :)
Always distracted! LOL!!! Such a great cover though...it was needed...so you are good!
It was definitely needed Val and I think I am now getting more sewing done because it makes me so happy to look at it! :)
