Hello, hello. How are you on this fine Thursday? I'm looking forward to a day in my sewing room getting things done, but thought I would share this baby gift with you first. One of my former colleagues from Belmont University is having a baby! I'm so excite for him and his wife. They are both former students of mine which makes it all the sweeter. They are having a little boy and the nursery theme is jungle animals. Since I try to make all baby things in organic fabric, I was super excited to find this. I ordered the fat quarter set and 2 yards of the lighter blue for the backing. First, I made this quilt that I showed you in progress 2 weeks ago.
I had it quilted with a square shape. Love the pattern with these fabrics! After I finished the binding, I added a dedication on the back. They are not sharing the name of the baby so I used their last name!
Using leftover scraps from the quilt I made a towel and washcloth set (the meerkat!!!!!),
a personalized burp cloth,
a little zip pouch,
and, (of course) a Green Bag Lady bag to put everything in as "gift warp."
I love how it all turned out and it was SO fun to make. I hope that Little Man Pierce enjoys all the items for years to come. :) Teresa
