My family and I had a lovely time in Mexico last week for spring break. We were about one hour south of Cancun in an area called Puerto Aventuras. Just beautiful. The people were also so kind and wonderful. All of them. It could not have been a better vacation. We were at a hotel (Omni Puerto Aventuras) right on the beach. Yummy breakfast every morning watching the waves. Sigh.
On the second day we went on a cool adventure called Tulum Xtreme. We went zip lining over the forest, repelling, snorkeling in an underground cenote (there are thousands in the Yucatan Peninsula!) and visited the ruins of Tulum. We had a great guide, Orlando, for the whole day. We were exhausted and sweaty when we got back to the hotel, but it was such fun!On our fourth day we went to Xel-Ha, a natural water park. There, we enjoyed water slides, snorkeling (fish and sting rays!), beautiful Macaws and Little Girl fulfilled a lifelong dream to swim with dolphins. She was grinning from ear to ear the entire time! It was adorable.
It was sad to leave…
Until next time Mexico!
The thought of building a wall between my country and our Mexican neighbors completely breaks my heart. I adore the Mexican people and hope to visit again in the near future. Adios! Teresa
