UPDATE: Berlin, Germany Chapter

Look at all these great photos from Bagette Audrey in Berlin. She organized and coordinated participation in a huge event in Potsdam where people could sew their own bags. Fantastic! Thank you so much to Brother Sewing Machines and Mettler Thread for being integral parts of the event. Audrey was even interviewed at the event (towards end of video) about Green Bag Lady. Love everything about this! Keep up the great work. Teresa

The Umweltfest Potsdam Event was very successful – presentation, local television, activity booth and LOTS of visitors. Aside from the visitors who wanted information, the main activity was actually  “sew your own bag”. The active sewers were all beginners ranging from 7 to 70, male and female. They required guidance on every step – but the other people just watched and interjected their questions. We managed to sew 60 bags (10/hour). The work “stations” supported by Brother machines and thread from Mettler: cutting table, 2x serger, ironing, 4x sewing. We insisted they do everything on their own, except for the serger.  The owner of a local fabric shop “Textile” helped us – along with new bagette “Raphaela”, who also has sewing videos on utube……an interesting team of 8 ðŸ˜Š Many new contacts and a couple of interesting projects could transpire.
