My favs!

These are my favorite plants! I have 4 of them hanging on my back deck. They are Rio Dipladenia and I just LOVE them. I grabbed them because the tag said were drought resistant and hardy. I had petunias hanging up last year and they were constantly dry to the point that I had to water them twice a day and they still died by August, but look at these lovelies! The hummingbirds and bees can't get enough of them and the tendrils that hang off and twist around everything are awesome. I wonder if I can keep them alive over the winter, anyone know? Those are gorgeous! Love that they feed bees and hummers. I will have to look for them next year or try to get seeds. I don't know if you can overwinter them. My mom sometimes puts plants in the garage, keeps them lightly watered and then in the spring they start to come up again. They will look completely dead all winter, but the roots survive and send up shoots. You might have to repot to keep them going. It's worth a try because sometimes you can't find the plants you want the next year!

Found this:

Overwintering tips: Rio dipladenias may not survive in regions where temperatures drop below 7 degrees C or 45 degrees F in winter. Bring your plants indoors in fall to overwinter them. Place your Rios close to a window that receives all-day sunlight. Make sure the temperature remains above 7 degrees C or 45 F. Dipladenias only need watering when the top 5 cm (2 inches) of soil begin to dry. Some foliage may die, but your Rios should produce new foliage in spring. Rio dipladenias come pre-fertilized but plants that have been over-wintered can be fertilized once in May and once in August, with slow-release 18-6-12 fertilizer. Do not fertilize during winter as dipladenias' natural rest period lasts from October to April.

They are a tropical plant that apparently does fine in other areas!

Thanks Maria! I'm going to try and keep them over the winter. It would be so cool if I can enjoy them next year too!

They appealed to me because the tag stated that they were drought resistant and resilient. Last year, Buy Coursework Online - Speedycoursework.co.uk I had petunias hanging up and they were always dry, to the point where I had to water them twice a day, and they died by August, now look at these beauties!
