Hi!

I saw you this afternoon on CNN. I think you are doing great work and I would love to receive one of your bags. The story got me thinking that I should talk to my friends with sewing machines and seeing if they would be interested in extending your work. The more people we can get making, using and sharing reusable bags, the better!

Thank you and keep up the great work!

I'm passing around the pattern to other in my family and hopefully we can make these as Christmas gifts. I'm not going to request a bag right now because I know it costs you time and money...unless I flub on making my own and need one for reference. Then, I might be back. Keep up the good work and may God bless you in all that you do!

Talking about some global impact! Kudos to you and CNN.

The problem usually rellies on consumer goods producers, who wrap with unnecessary plastic whatever they are selling.Vendors shall have a commitment too. I remember that in certain shops in Germany you actually get some cash back when you leave the packing at the counter, which makes sense coz it makes the products even more expensive and we are paying for somenthing thats is going right to the bin and the pollute for at least 500 years.

Amazing job, I'd really apreccciate having a signed bag!

I promise some pictures back.

Greetings from Mexico!

Oh I forgot the link to a BBC article:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/3116318.stm

Shopping list: Nectarines, kiwifruit, avocado, goat's cheese, baked potatoes, sliced ham, olives, and cheesecake for afters.
Rubbish generated: four plastic bags, clingfilm, six plastic pots, trays - one polystyrene foam, two plastic and one pulped cardboard - a cake-shaped plastic box and a cardboard box with plastic windows, all packed into a plastic carrier bag.

So what to do with this lot once lunch has been scoffed? Straight into the bin it goes. While we are encouraged - and will soon be required by law - to recycle our waste, it is not always straightforward to put this into practice.

The one tray made from cardboard is biodegradable and can be composted (by those with gardens). While the local supermarket has a collection point for carrier bag recycling, no other type of plastic is accepted.

Down the road at the recycling centre, there are bins for newspapers, aluminium cans, glass, even clothing and shoes, but not plastics. The local council is not much help either; plastic isn't included in its kerbside collection.

Yet this material makes up the bulk of our household waste. Each year, Britons get through 5m tonnes of plastic, barely one-tenth of which is recycled.

Hello. I truly appreciate your efforts to better our world...and it is amazing that you do this for free!! In my state (Oregon), the local legislature is pushing to pass a law that will charge shoppers a 5 cent fee for those who do not bring their own bags to the store. Perhaps a drastic change for some, but definitely a step in the right direction.
Thanks for saving the planet - and for the inspiration!

Hi! My name is Joyce, and I live in Arizona. I saw your story this morning on CNN and was so excited! I am a single mother of 5 lovely daughters, and also run a daycare from my home. We recycle like crazy, teaching all of the children about it! I have wanted to get some canvas bags at our grocery store, but can't ever seem to have enough extra money to get one! I was so disappointed when I got online (with the kids looking over my shoulder) and found that your demand now exceeds your supply. No surprise there! Hopefully we will win one! I don't sew, but have friends who do, and they are now going to be sending you fabric. What a wonderful lesson your are teaching our future generation! Thank you and keep up the good work!!
