I'm always hesitant to cut any of the vintage fabric in my life, you too? I'm never quite sure what to do with it. I love to look at it and the funky color combos but when it come to actually making anything, I'm at a loss. I wish I was one of those women that could cut it up into a cute skirt and run around town. Not happening. We all know I am a jeans girl at best. My favorite days are spent entirely in yoga pants. Let's be honest, comfy is the way to go.
Soooo, enter the dresser drawers and bins on the shelf in my sewing room. Two drawers and two bins are stuffed with vintage pieces. Just hanging out. I have made some quilts out of it (seen here, here, here and here) and will undoubtably make more. Maybe this summer? In the meantime, there are some of the fabrics that I can't imagine in a quilt. Either they are too thick (canvas or denim) or not what I'm looking for in a color scheme.
What to do? Make bags. Surprised, aren't you? I can tell by the way your mouth dropped open in disbelief. Anyway, have 12 fun ones to give away…
A small portion of the vintage fabric mountain taking over my sewing room…
Sewn into fun bags for you!
