This week I sewed some bags and some handles, blah, blah. What else is new? Well, I've been painting some furniture! I haven't done this in a while and hubby was getting annoyed at all the pieces I had hanging out in the garage, so…
First up is this bench. I got it for free from a friend (same friend who donated all this fabric!) on Facebook. It was bigger in person than it looked in the photo, but I knew it had potential. I decided it would look nice at the end of my bed…
And it does! I used my favorite Annie Sloan Chalk Paints. First, I painted it with 2 coats of Paris Grey. Then, scuffed it up with a bit of sand paper. Last, I used dark wax on it to give it a vintage look. I really love it! Clearly I owe Tara lunch!
Here is another find I got off Facebook for $40. I'm in progress on this one. I bought it to paint up and give to my sweet little baby cousin.
The stool was a little rough. Fabric was not attractive. And, there was a split in one of the legs. I put wood glue and a clamp on it for a few hours then I put a screw in it to make sure it was sturdy.
I also recovered the cushion. Easy peasy. Only a staple gun was necessary. The painting is in progress and I need to get some new knobs for it. I hope to finish it tomorrow.
I mean, wouldn't YOU paint a desk for this little love??? Took this photo today while I was babysitting her. Heaven.
What are you up to? I'll share photos of the finished desk. I hope she likes it. Teresa
P.S. Previous painting projects:

The bench does indeed look good at the foot of your bed! Looking forward to see the desk for your little cousin.
