Hi there! I hope you had a great weekend. Kudos if you participated in any of the Women's Marches. I ended up at home with a sick kid but was very much there with everyone in spirit. Harmony even flew to DC for the march there.
I found this sifting through my inbox this morning. There is a simple solution. Don't buy any kind of microwave popcorn, ever! It's been forever since I purchased any. I posted how I make popcorn way back in this post (tiny Little Man!!!).
What about this or this? Anyone tried it? I'm going to! No waste at all and you can eat it out of the bowl!
Here's my method:
Teresa's Microwave Popcorn
1/3 cup organic popcorn--bought in bulk and brought home in a fabric produce bag! :)
1 brown lunch bag (they come in a pack of 100 and sold at the grocery store)
1 piece of clear tape (masking tape will not work, it come off in the heat)
Put the popcorn in the bag and roll it over 2 times about 1/2 inch each roll, seal it with the tape, put it in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, just listen for it to stop popping, take tape off, put in a bowl and ENJOY!
This is the easiest and most environmentally friendly way to eat popcorn. You can use the bag over and over, just ask Bagette Dad. If it rips, just recycle it!
You can add 1-2 tbsp of butter and some salt if you don't like it plain.
Now I'm hungry for popcorn… Teresa

I agree--store-bought microwave popcorn is a no-no, as far as I'm concerned. I have a hard plastic microwave popcorn popper to use in the microwave. It works quite well. Had it for a long time, so I don't know where I got it. PS I always add butter and salt!
I just worry about plastic in the microwave. It seems ok though? I tried today to make it with a glass bowl with a glass plate on top. Worked just fine! YAY! That even reduces the waste of the paper bag. :)
