Update on Ukraine

Hello there! I have an update on Bagette Liia and an update on the fundraiser. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Due to incredible generosity from many of you, we have raised $3325 for Bagette Liia and her family. I sent $1000 of that to her last week just to make sure it went through to her Polish bank account. It did! She let me know she got $967.52 in her account from us. That is minus the wire transaction fee. The teller I worked with at USBank is talking to his manager to see if they can waive the wire fee on our end to be able to send even more money. :) I'm still collecting for Liia if you are interested in donating:

Paypal: teresa@vanhatten.com (please put the word Ukraine in the notes)

Venmo: @teresa-granath-1 (please put the word Ukraine in the notes)

By check: PM me or email me for info: teresa@vanhatten.com

I'm going to send the remainder of the balance to her this week. Read how Liia is doing below. Again, THANK YOU ALL! Teresa

Hi, Teresa

I got 967,52 USD
Obviously, they took their commission while transferring. It is a great sum of money for us. Thank all of you very much. I will do my best to spend it properly and give you a report.

We are all right here trying to learn Polish attending a short course of it at the University and my son is going to take the  secondary school exams next week in Polish , where the demands are the same as for Polish students, Maths, which is also different from ours and English - the only subject in which he is sure to succeed))) The other two will be a disaster. But these are the requirements of the Polish department of education for Ukrainian refugees.

In my native city the situation can be called stable today cause the defenders do not let the enemy go further though Russians collect the forces to attack.  I hope our army got some armoury from abroad to resist..But air raid sirens are several times a day in the city.

Sincerely thankful to all the participants  of this fund-raising event, you are the greatest people ever!
Best wishes,
Liia
